If we were still kids today and did the same stuff that we did then, we'd be tried as adults for terrorism.

| | | 09:46 - 9/2/2010 | This is from a Grand Junction, CO website (NBC11news.com):
LIFTON, Colo. (KKCO) - A
neighbor tells 11 News two teens at a house at 619 Susan Street in
Clifton were taking apart 22 caliber shells to use the gun powder to
blow things up, when one of them went off, hitting a boy in the chest
and killing him.
A neighbor near the house at 619
Susan Street tells 11 News he didn't hear a gunshot, but did hear
screaming at the house and went over to investigate. He says he found a
teenage boy on the floor of the home and another teen standing over his
body.
The
Mesa County Sheriff's Office says around 3:30 p.m. they were called to
the scene on reports of someone with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Investigators remain on scene, and the Mesa County Coroner is also
there, trying to determine the cause and manner of the boy's death.
The Coroner says the father of the
deceased boy was on scene and as of 7 p.m. they were still trying to
locate the boy's mother. The Coroner says his report will be released
Thursday morning.
Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Heather Benjamin says no arrests have been made and no one is in custody.
How did we NOT die all those times??? That Easter Egg bomb was fucking awesome though!

| | | 15:30 - 8/31/2010 | Believe it or not, the PDF file format is an open standard: Adobe doesn't own it.
There are many PDF writers you can download that will basically act as printers. You print from Word or whatever, and choose the PDF writer as the printer, and it will save the PDF file. I have used a bunch of them as part of some research for replacing Adobe, so they've all run together, but I remember that CutePDF worked okay.
There's also the option of converting the file online, which is handy if you only want to do it once or twice. Adobe will let you do five. You have to sign up for it, which probably means annoying email. there are other online converters, but without vetting them, I won't recommend them.

So Blockbuster is finally declaring bankruptcy. I'm not shocked, but it's still weird. We, the last of the Cold War Kids, embrace online movies but wipe away a tear for the video stores. Of course, Blockbuster killed mom & pop video stores fifteen years ago, so it can kind of go fuck itself, which it actually did.
